InfoCal – Customer and Measurement Management Mobile Application for Optical Stores
Problem
In optical stores, eye and eyeglass measurements are performed with specialized devices costing thousands of dollars. For small and mid-sized stores this is a serious investment — on top of maintenance costs and dependence on a single fixed station. Since measurement results and customer records were usually kept in separate places, reaching past measurements was also cumbersome.
Solution
We developed an iOS application that lets optical stores take these measurements without expensive devices. The app performs eye and eyeglass measurements with high accuracy directly on the phone; results are stored inside the app together with the customer record. Instead of buying hardware, stores access the system through a monthly subscription model.
